Founded in 1980 by Prof. Javier Tamayo Jaramillo, the firm was established to provide specialized legal counsel and representation in judicial and arbitral litigation involving civil and state liability, fiscal responsibility, insurance and reinsurance law, and transportation law. Subsequently, the firm adopted the name TAMAYO JARAMILLO & ASOCIADOS and expanded its practice areas to include advisory services for contract negotiation and execution, management of class action and group lawsuits, extraordinary cassation appeals, and government contracting.
In 2020, Dr. Javier Tamayo Jaramillo welcomed five distinguished jurists as partners and shareholders of TAMAYO JARAMILLO & ASOCIADOS: attorneys Carlos Andrés González Galvis, Laura Castaño Echeverri, Daniel Ossa Gómez, Margarita Jaramillo Cossio, and Luis Miguel Gómez Gómez. Prof. Javier Tamayo Jaramillo continues to serve as the founding partner and director of the firm.
With the support of its partners and a team of specialized attorneys in their respective fields, the firm has consolidated its reputation over the years, earning recognition both nationally and internationally. Presently, it maintains offices in Medellín and Bogotá, with a presence in cities including Cali, Cartagena, and Barranquilla.
